After 25 years of pushing the boundaries with fashion and photography, the team at Vogue Taiwan are pushing the boundaries further still with this issue: the island-inspired cover comes alive with AR technology, making this their first interactive cover. Using a mix of CGI and AR technology, the team are ‘redefining the possibility of paper publications.’
The cover, entitled ‘Brave New World,’ gives space to 5 emerging models, redefining Taiwanese fashion for a new generation. Inside, the issue is dedicated to a further 25 rising stars. You can learn more from the team at Vogue Taiwan here.

Whilst this is Vogue Taiwan’s first exploration into AR cover content, other titles have also embraced the possibilities of this technology. The team at Vogue and GQ Portugal have been experimenting with VR enhanced covers throughout 2020.
Vogue Portugal first experimented with this technology for their October 2020 issue, ‘Into the Blue.’
Vogue Portugal October 2020
The issue celebrates the colour of tranquillity, harmony, infinity and new horizons. AR technology brings cover model Emilly Nunes to life, in a mesmerising swirl.
They enhanced their November issue too, offering readers the chance to see cover star James Charles' makeup glimmer and shine.
Vogue Portugal November 2020
The team at GQ Portugal offered readers a chance to see cover model Alba Baptista come to life for their September 2020 issue. The issue theme of 'Change' seemed apt; we're looking forward to how this cover technology can enhance and transform the magazines of the future.
